Maharashtra and Gujarat are bracing for cyclone Tauktae, which is expected to make landfall this evening. Both the centre and states are focussing on ensuring that covid patients in hospitals are not affected because of the cyclone. Hospitals have been asked to ensure oxygen and essential drugs are stocked up for the next 24-48 hours, and to make sure they have adequate power backup.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called the chief ministers of Gujarat and Goa as well as the lieutenant governor of Daman & Diu to discuss preparations and response to Cylone Tauktae.
