Security has been heightened in Haryana after Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) called for a yatra on Monday even after permission was denied to go ahead with the event. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, on Sunday, said that the religious procession had not been granted permission and urged people to visit local temples for ‘jalabhishek’. In view of the Hindu group’s yatra today, heavy police personnel have been deployed at Haryana borders and checkpoints. Almost all vehicles going towards Nuh Mewat are being stopped and checked by state police personnel. Police are also checking the identity cards of people living in Nuh.
