Delhi-NCR Heavy Rains: A 22-year-old woman (Tanuja) and her three-year-old (Priyansh) child died a painful death after drowning in a pit filled with rainwater in Delhi’s Ghazipur near a construction site in Khoda Colony. The police reported that upon reaching the scene, it was discovered that Tanuja and her child, Priyansh, were on their way to the weekly Budh Bazaar in the Ghazipur Police Station area of East Delhi when they fell into a waterlogged, semi-constructed drain. The drain, approximately 15 feet deep and 6 feet wide, caused them to drown. Their bodies have been recovered, and the Ghazipur East Delhi Police Station is proceeding with further legal action.
