The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made changes in credit and debit card rules because of the growing concern over credit and debit card frauds across the nation. RBI said that the re-issued or new debit and credit cards can be used only at domestic ATMs and Point of Sale (PoS) devices within India. Apart from this, users will now be able to enable or disable the NFC feature. RBI has asked all the banks to disable online payment for all debit, credit cards that have never been used for online or for contactless transactions in India or abroad and cardholders will also get the option to enable or disable the NFC feature also.
