Karan Johar shared an advertisement, featuring Shanaya Kapoor, on his social media. Soon netizens started trolling him for only encouraging and promoting star kids. Elelctronic accessory company Boat has launched their new product range titled ‘Misfit’. Shanaya featured in their hair straightener ad. She was shown wearing a Miss Perfect Sash and having Spaghetti with her fingers. The idea of the ad was to normalise your imperfections and how they make you perfect. But people didn’t pay any heed to the messaging and started trolling Shanaya. Some even compared her acting style to that of Ananya Pandey’s and called her Ananya’s second version.
