These were the words of 24-year-old Megha Hattarwad, urging caution at the Kumbh Mela. Little did she know that she herself would fall victim to the stampede that broke out around 2 AM on January 29.
The tragedy claimed the lives of four people from Karnataka’s Belagavi district, including Megha and her mother, Jyoti Hattarwad (44). A video of Megha surfaced just two days before the disaster, where she warned people about the overwhelming crowd at the Kumbh.
