NDPS Act Section 20: Possessing, selling or consuming marijuana is a punishable offense under Indian law. Strict provisions have been implemented under the NDPS Act, so that drug smuggling and illegal trade can be prevented. Recently, the famous IIT Baba Abhay Singh was detained by Jaipur Police during Mahakumbh 2025. Ganja was recovered from him, due to which action can be taken against him under the NDPS Act.
