A recent statement given by Justice Chandra Dhari Singh is making news. It happened when the court was hearing the petition against a lower court order in which prayer for registration of FIR against Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Verma was declined. The petition was filed by CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat.
Justice Singh said that if something is said with a smile then there is no criminality. The Delhi High Court on Friday said that speech given during election time differs from one given during normal times. The court observed that sometimes things are just said to create a “mahaul” (atmosphere).
