A public outburst by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has fueled questions about infighting within the state’s ruling Congress party. During a speech, Siddaramaiah lost his temper and scolded a Congress leader, who is an aide to Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, for asking that the Deputy CM’s name be mentioned. Siddaramaiah stated one cannot name those not present on stage and told the aide to “shut up”. He later claimed there was no humiliation and accused the BJP of trying to create a divide. The BJP has taken a dig at the Congress, alleging that all is not well and that the government is on the verge of collapsing.
