असम विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंता बिस्वा सरमा ने एक बड़ा बयान दिया है। सरमा ने कहा है कि राज्य में 2041 तक मुस्लिमों की आबादी हिंदुओं के बराबर हो जाएगी। सरमा ने दावा किया है राज्य में बड़ा डेमोग्राफिक शिफ्ट होगा। सरमा ने बुधवार को राज्य के असुरक्षित क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले मूल निवासियों को आत्मरक्षा के लिए हथियार लाइसेंस जारी करने की घोषणा की है। सीएम ने कहा कि यह कदम सीमा पार से आने वाले खतरों और अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से लिया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि आवेदन पोर्टल 1 से 7 अगस्त तक खुला रहेगा।
