Gandhi alleged that Jaitley warned him, saying, “if you carry on down this path, opposing the government, fighting us on the farm laws, we will have to act against you.” This assertion has drawn a sharp response from Arun Jaitley’s son, Rohan Jaitley, who pointed out a factual discrepancy. Rohan Jaitley stated that the farm laws were introduced in 2020, while his father passed away in August 2019. The BJP has also dismissed the claim as “fake news”, questioning how the meeting could have occurred. The controversial farm laws were introduced in Parliament in September 2020 and were later withdrawn by the government following extensive protests.
