The India-US tariff dispute has now spilled over into major arms deals. According to Reuters, India has paused plans to purchase US arms including Stryker combat vehicles and Javelin anti-tank missiles from the US. This move comes in response to President Trump’s decision to impose a 50% tariff on India. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has also cancelled a major trip to Washington where plans to purchase 6 Boeing P8I reconnaissance aircraft for the Indian Navy was supposed to be announced.
