Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort for the Independence Day celebrations. The Prime Minister was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth, and the Defence Secretary. The chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with the Chief of Defence Staff, were also in attendance to welcome him. Following his arrival, the Prime Minister was escorted to the saluting dais where he inspected a Guard of Honour presented by a contingent of the three services and the Delhi Police. He is set to unfurl the tricolour for the 12th consecutive year from the ramparts of the fort, which will be followed by a symbolic 21-gun salute using indigenous light field guns. Around 5,000 special invitees are present for the ceremony.
