A monorail in Mumbai’s Eastern suburbs became stuck due to a technical snag and heavy rainfall. The Mumbai monorail service, operating between Chembur and Bhakti Park, halted around 6:15 p.m. The Mumbai Fire Brigade, along with officials from the BMC and MMRDA, initiated a rescue operation. A total of 582 passengers were on board the monorail when it stopped near Mysore Colony monorail station due to a power shutdown. The rescue operation, which involved using sky lifts to evacuate passengers from a height of over 40 feet, lasted for over three hours and concluded around 9:30 p.m. Ten to twelve passengers experienced breathlessness and claustrophobia and were taken to a hospital for observation. Officials stated, “This is one of the biggest rescue operations carried out till date by the Mumbai Fire Brigade where 582 people were rescued out safely.” #mumbaimonorail #monorailrescue #rescueoperation #itwebvideos #mumbai #firebrigade #technicalsnag #heavyrainfall #chembur #bhaktipark #passengerssafe #indiatoday #mumbainews #emergencyresponse #publictransport #urbanrescue
