Mumbai Rains: Red Alert Issued, Roads Submerged, Vehicles Drowned | India Today News

Mumbai is experiencing its third consecutive day of heavy rainfall. The city’s infrastructure is impacted, with the Mumbai Sign Highway notably submerged, leading to vehicles being partially drowned in water. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai, indicating the severity of the weather conditions. Consequently, local bodies have advised residents to avoid stepping out of their homes unless absolutely necessary. The IMD suggests that the intense rainfall may continue for the next few hours. Despite the challenging conditions, both road and railway transport services are currently operating, albeit with minor delays ranging from five to ten minutes, as confirmed by authorities. The situation highlights the ongoing impact of the continuous downpour on daily life in the city.
