A shocking incident took place at Bhuni Toll Plaza in Meerut, where an Indian Army jawan, Kapil Kavad, was brutally beaten and tied to a pole by toll staff after a heated dispute over toll charges, despite him being on official leave and showing his Army ID. The disturbing video of the assault went viral, sparking public outrage. In response, hundreds of locals, including farmers and political leaders, gathered at the toll plaza, vandalized the premises, and declared it toll-free. Police were deployed in large numbers, and an FIR was registered. So far, 6 toll workers have been arrested, and further investigation is underway. Political leaders have demanded strict punishment, including invoking the National Security Act against the accused.
