The White House has reiterated threats of sanctions on India, stating actions have been taken to pressure to end the Russia-Ukraine war. The president has put tremendous public pressure to bring this war to a close, taking actions in the form of sanctions on India and other measures. However, experts in the United States are interpreting that tariffs are not sanctions and if they are sanctions, they are the sanctions against the US consumers because currently the US consumers are paying the price of, you know, the US or Trump administration imposed tariffs. The Indian market is also facing difficulties due to tariffs on Indian products. The administration is seen as exercising duality in its policies, dealing and negotiating with China, the biggest purchaser of Russian oil, and seeing bilateral trade with Russia increase by 20%.
