Himachal Pradesh has been declared a disaster zone by its Chief Minister, who is now seeking a disaster relief package from the center. Since June 20th, relentless monsoon activity and climate chaos have triggered numerous cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods. These events have led to the deaths of more than 300 people. The natural calamities have caused widespread damage to infrastructure, farms, and homes, with more than 1,280 houses destroyed and dozens of shops and factories damaged. Significant infrastructural losses have been reported over the last four days, with key areas like Kundu and Manali completely cut off.
