A wave of heated protests has gripped Kathmandu as Nepal’s government enforces a sweeping ban on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and 23 other social media platforms including YouTube. Taking the responsibility of the protest, Nepal’s Home Minister has resigned from his post. He gave his resignation to PM KP Sharma Oli. Gen Z protestors, armed with VPNs to bypass the blockade, set the parliament gates ablaze and clashed with security forces, prompting the government to issue strict ‘shoot-at-sight’ orders.
