Kumar’s petition argued that he was “falsely implicated in the said crime only due to political rivalry.” However, the judge questioned his failure as a leader to control the crowd during the event. This is one of several cases filed against TVK functionaries for incidents of vandalism and public disorder in districts like Trichy and Karur. The development comes as the party’s top leaders, Dussi Anand and C. T. Nirmal Kumar, also face crucial anticipatory bail hearings, compounding the legal challenges for the political outfit.
