A Hyundai i20 hatchback with Haryana number plates was the epicenter of a high-intensity blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening. The car’s original owner, Mohd Salman from Gurugram, has been arrested and questioned by police after selling the vehicle to several individuals, including a person from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. The explosion occurred around 7 PM near the Subhash Marg Traffic Signal close to the Red Fort Metro Station, causing flames to engulf nearby vehicles and shattering glass windows in the vicinity. Three people were inside the car during the blast, and officials noted the absence of pellet injuries, which is unusual in bomb explosions. Following the incident, Delhi Police and Gurugram Police have launched a thorough investigation while tightening security measures across the capital. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has put all key installations, including the Delhi Metro, Red Fort, government buildings, and IGI Airport, on high alert to prevent any further threats.
