Duniyadari | Ep. 1497 | 20th November, 2025
China has announced a series of measures against Japan as the two countries engage in a tense standoff over Taiwan, a self-ruled island that Beijing sees as a Chinese province. The spat erupted on November 7, when Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said a Chinese military attack on Taiwan could constitute a “survival-threatening situation” for Japan, potentially allowing Tokyo to exercise its legal right to collective self-defence.
As both countries navigate a changing regional order, each episode of friction offers a preview of how volatile their coexistence can be, and how much is at stake when Asia’s two giants find themselves at odds.
