According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclone has now weakened into a deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal. The system is currently moving northwards at a reduced speed of 5 km/hr and was positioned approximately 90 km from Puducherry and 140 km from Chennai a few hours ago. Although the cyclone has weakened, rainfall activity remains on high alert, with significant rainfall expected across districts of Andhra Pradesh.
