In a major crackdown on IndiGo airlines, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has reduced the carrier’s winter schedule by 5% following widespread operational disruptions. Reporting for India Today, Shreya Chatterjee confirms that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) penalised the airline for its ‘inability to run the operations’ efficiently. The order specifically targets high-demand sectors and reverses the 6% increment previously granted to IndiGo for the season. The move is expected to impact approximately 100 flights daily, which will be redistributed to other operators to mitigate passenger inconvenience during the holiday season.
