A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district allegedly killed his wife and two minor daughters and buried their bodies in a pit inside his house courtyard. Police say the murders were driven by long-standing disputes over wearing a burqa, which the accused linked to his “honour.”
The accused, Farooq, has been arrested after confessing to the crime, and police are investigating the planning, illegal weapon purchase, and possible involvement of others.
