The government on Sunday announced an unprecedented lockdown of 75 districts in the country in order to combat the threat of novel coronavirus. The Centre identified 75 districts where novel coronavirus, or Covid-19, cases have been reported and the recommended that they be placed under lockdown.
It has also been decided to suspend the interstate bus services till March 31, officials said.
The Karnataka government on Sunday placed at least nine districts, that have each reported at least one positive case of Covid-19, under lockdown till 31 March.
Meanwhile, the governments of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have also imposed lockdown in the states.
