Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) marked a major milestone as it commenced airside operations on December 25, 2025, with the arrival of its first commercial flight. The inaugural IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru landed at 08:00 hrs and was accorded a ceremonial water cannon salute. Shortly after, NMIA witnessed its first departure as IndiGo flight 6E882 took off for Hyderabad at 08:40 hrs. The successful completion of the first arrival and departure cycle signals the operational readiness of the airport and a significant boost to aviation infrastructure in Maharashtra.
