The debate around ultra-fast deliveries returned to the spotlight after gig worker unions flagged safety concerns during their December 31 strike call. While delivery services on platforms such as Zomato and Blinkit were largely unaffected on New Year’s Eve, questions around whether 10-minute delivery models put pressure on riders gained traction on social media. Responding to this, Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal took to X to explain how the 10-minute delivery promise works and why, according to him, it does not compromise delivery partner safety.
