The results of the elections for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the country’s richest municipal body, have been announced. The BJP secured 89 seats in the 227-seat BMC. This is the first time since the 2002 municipal elections that any single party has won so many seats on its own. Overall, the BJP’s performance was good. However, despite this positive result, the BJP is not entirely happy.
