On not winning the National Award for the movie, ‘Black’, she says, “I started out as an actor because my mom asked me to be one. I realised that through the work I could do, I could probably give my parents a better life and see them happy and comfortable… Winning awards is more about the recognition that the entire team of that film gets… It does hurt… It is good that it happened because very early on in my life, I realised that even after you do your best work, you might not get the recognition that you deserve…”
