The tragedy occurred following a heated argument over a seat as the train approached Malad station. Mustafa Sheikh noted, ‘The fight was about getting down at Malad railway station. Alok Singh was standing near the door when he was stabbed.’ The assailant reportedly used a sharp object and managed to escape into the crowded platform before passengers could intervene. The Borivali GRP has registered a murder case and launched a massive manhunt, scanning CCTV footage to identify the killer. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding commuter safety and how the attacker managed to carry a weapon onto the city’s lifeline. Singh, who had been married for only two years, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family and the city of Mumbai in deep shock.
