A devastating explosion shocked the Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, after suspected crude bomb-making on a rooftop went horribly wrong. Shahnawaz Malik (26) — a history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases — and his mother, Lizatun Bibi (51) died from severe burn injuries after the blast. The explosion critically injured two others, including Malik’s fiancée and a friend, who are now under treatment. CCTV footage circulating online shows the terrifying moment of the blast with flames, smoke, and screams as neighbours panic and flee. Authorities found explosive materials at the scene, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe to investigate the circumstances and possible wider criminal intent.
