Edtech major Unacademy, backed by SoftBank, has announced a major shift in its business strategy. In an internal email sent on February 18, 2026, Co-founder and CEO Gaurav Munjal informed employees that the company is shutting down its company-operated offline centers and transitioning to a franchise-led model.
However, this sudden transition has left thousands of students in limbo. The Lallantop team reached the Unacademy offline center in Karol Bagh, Delhi, to capture the ground reality. With courses still halfway through, students are worried about whether they will get fee refunds. Watch the video to know more.
