A Special POCSO Court in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, has sentenced a husband and wife to death for the sexual abuse of 33 minor children. According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the couple lured children from poor families, assaulted them, recorded explicit videos and photos, and allegedly sold the content on the dark web. Acting on inputs from Interpol, the CBI arrested the accused in November 2020. The court termed the crime “rarest of the rare” and awarded capital punishment.
