The United States tested a missile called the “Minuteman III” from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. It is often referred to as the “Doomsday Missile” because it can carry nuclear weapons and is a key component of America’s nuclear strategy. The missile was targeted near the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean, and it flew thousands of kilometers to hit its target.
