Health Minister Ma Subramanian held a meeting instructing hospitals to ensure patients are not affected, recommending they provide milk, fruits and bread to avoid disruption. Restaurants across Tamil Nadu have begun using firewood and reducing menu offerings due to lack of commercial LPG supply. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has written to the Prime Minister’s office requesting measures to prevent LPG shortage in the state, ensure safety of Tamils in Gulf countries, and arrange extra power supply and alternative fuel arrangements. The crisis has led to hotel shutdowns in Mumbai, halted gas-fired crematoriums in Pune, and delivery delays across Karnataka, West Bengal and Telangana. Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Nayanar Nagendran dismissed shortage claims as lies, while Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attributed the crisis to global tensions and ongoing wars affecting oil supply.
