Did Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Present Incorrect Facts During His West Bengal Campaign?

A viral video from April 20 shows Yogi Adityanath during a rally in West Bengal’s Purulia, where he appears to wrongly credit the famous slogan “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom” to Swami Vivekananda instead of Subhas Chandra Bose.

The clip triggered criticism from the All India Trinamool Congress and leaders like Mahua Moitra. However, a closer look at multiple rally speeches shows that Yogi correctly attributed the slogan to Bose in other locations like Paschim Medinipur and Jhargram.

This suggests the viral claim is partially true—there was a factual slip in one speech, not a consistent mistake.

Historically, Bose gave this slogan in 1944 in Rangoon during World War II, inspiring the Indian National Army.
