New closed-circuit television footage has emerged in the alleged dowry death case of a Bhopal woman, revealing her final moments. The video shows the woman climbing the stairs at her marital home, followed by her husband and two other men attempting a failed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before carrying her body downstairs. Her mother-in-law, a retired judge, is also seen in the footage. The mother-in-law has denied the dowry harassment allegations, instead claiming that the deceased was consuming narcotics and underwent psychiatric treatment. She further alleged that the woman took abortion pills. Meanwhile, the deceased’s mother has accused the in-laws of domestic abuse and torture, sharing messages sent by her daughter before her death. The messages detailed allegations of abuse and suspicion from her husband regarding her pregnancy. The local police have intensified their probe, forming a Special Investigation Team and announcing a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the absconding husband, whose bail plea was recently rejected.
