VD Satheesan announced major welfare decisions after the first cabinet meeting of the new Keralam government in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Kerala government announced free bus travel in KSRTC buses from June 15 under the UDF’s Indira guarantees.
The cabinet also decided to create a new department for senior citizens and increase the payment of Asha workers by Rs 3000.
These announcements are being seen as major welfare steps by the new government.
