Petrol, diesel prices hiked for fourth time in 10 days; latest by over ₹2.50| Petrol and diesel prices have increased once again across India, marking the fourth fuel price hike in the last two weeks. Petrol prices have gone up by ₹2.61 per litre, while diesel has become costlier by ₹2.71 per litre. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) say they were absorbing losses for weeks despite rising global crude oil prices, but continuing tensions between the US and Iran and uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz have pushed crude prices above $100 per barrel. CNG prices have also risen in parts of North India. Experts warn that if West Asia tensions continue, fuel prices may rise further in the coming days.
