Iran has claimed launching missile strikes targeting United States military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, escalating tensions in the West Asia region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced these attacks, claiming air-launched missiles were fired at the bases and tankers in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. In response, the US military reported that seven Iranian missiles were fired, with six successfully intercepted by air defence systems. US Central Command confirmed there were no injuries to US personnel. Amid these escalating hostilities, Iran has demanded the lifting of the US blockade in the region and threatened a complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial shipping lane carrying nearly twenty percent of global energy supplies.
