Trinamool Congress (TMC) faces a significant internal crisis as Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Chik Baraik resigned from the Upper House, marking the third such exit within a week following Sukhendu Sekhar Roy and Sushmita Dev. The resignations leave the TMC with only ten members in the Rajya Sabha, with predictions that three more MPs may step down shortly. Reports suggest that a rebel group of 19 Lok Sabha MPs is also demanding a separate seating arrangement and planning to support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha members who resigned are reportedly in contact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership and are likely to be fielded as BJP candidates in the upcoming by-elections.
