A historic draft peace deal has been officially signed to end the conflict in West Asia. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the Versailles Palace, echoing the landmark 1919 treaty. The agreement marks a major milestone toward establishing regional peace and paves the way for the much-awaited reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. While the deal was initially expected to be finalised on a later date, both sides agreed to the terms early. The draft agreement will be finalised over the next sixty days before a final peace deal is executed, while commitments on defence capabilities and military presence remain key parameters of the transitional period.
