Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated once again after the US launched a series of military strikes on Iranian targets following attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the strikes were carried out in response to what Washington described as unprovoked Iranian attacks on commercial shipping and a violation of the ceasefire. Iran, however, has condemned the US decision to revoke sanctions relief on its oil exports, calling it a breach of the June 18 ceasefire agreement.
