Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the formation of a high-powered task force headed by UIDAI founder and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to overhaul the national examination system. The initiative aims to integrate technology to make entrance tests like NEET, taken by nearly 22 lakh candidates, leak-proof and secure. Alongside technological reforms, the government plans to table amendments to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, in the Lok Sabha to introduce stricter penalties and stronger deterrence against paper leaks following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
