A massive crowd of DMK cadre gathered in Thanjavur outside the Thanjavur South Police Station, where Udhayanidhi Stalin was originally scheduled to be taken. Citing potential law and order issues and safety threats from the chaotic situation, the police diverted the transit vehicle and rerouted him toward another police station located on the national highway between Trichy and Thanjavur. Authorities plan to take him to the alternative station for questioning, after which he will be granted station bail and released.
