In a heart-wrenching development following the catastrophic floods triggered by Nepal’s Trishuli and Bhote Koshi rivers, rescue teams in Betrawati village, Nuwakot, discovered 24 bodies inside a single ruined three-story building, including a poignant scene of a mother holding her child. Believed to be Gosainkunda pilgrims trapped by the sudden deluge on August 26, these victims were recovered during helicopter-assisted operations on September 1, pushing Nepal’s flood death toll past 1,000 as search efforts continue for thousands still missing.
