In a major setback for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Bombay High Court has refused to quash the summons issued by a magistrate court in a defamation case regarding his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The case dates back to 2018. During a rally in Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi referred to the Prime Minister as the choron ke sardar. BJP activist Mahesh Shrishrimal had filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the Girgaon Magistrate Court.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India to attend the BRICS Summit. Ahead of the BRICS leaders’ meeting in New Delhi on September 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Putin will hold a bilateral meeting. Regarding the participation of Chinese President Xi Jinping in the 18th BRICS Summit scheduled for September 12 and 13 in New Delhi, the situation remains unclear. China did not give a clear response on Tuesday regarding the likelihood of Xi Jinping attending the summit.
