Economist and Columbia University Professor Jeffrey Sachs shared his perspective on global geopolitics, the BRICS Summit in India, and India-China bilateral ties. Sachs described the India-China relationship as the “most important bilateral relationship in the world,” arguing that cooperation between both nations is essential to foster a true multipolar global order. He urged both countries to peacefully resolve historical border disputes stemming from the colonial era and cautioned India against relying on Western alliances, stating, “India has no business being part of the Quad.” Highlighting global economic shifts, Sachs projected that India and China will become the two largest global economies and argued that BRICS serves as a crucial bulwark against unilateral Western actions and economic sanctions. Sachs also advocated for a multicurrency trade settlement system and called for strengthening the United Nations.
