In Muzaffarnagar, while delivering a verdict in a decade-old NDPS case, Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar raised questions regarding the injustice meted out to a judge. During the proceedings, he expressed displeasure over the then District Judge’s decision to withdraw 97 cases from his court and transfer them to other courts. In his judgment, Judge Diwakar wrote that no one in India is above the law; the country is governed by the Constitution and the rule of law, not by the arbitrary conduct of any public servant.
